Beyond Exposure 2020 Presenters

The 2020 Beyond Exposure Virtual Conference featured top industry professionals such as Rashid William (Jill Scott & John Legend), Alex Williams (Kanye West, Nike, Disney) and Daisha McBride (Artist/Songwriter) who discussed practical ways that artists could consistently put themselves in a position to negotiate fair pay for their performances.

Alexander Williams is a broadcast engineer turned producer, for festivals, tours, film, and luxury brand activations across the world. 

Managing events like London and Sochi Olympics in past, Kanye West Sunday Service , NIKE brand events, Alex has been trusted by top brands and artists to create and deploy activations from New York to Johannesburg and beyond.

Cody Clark
Four Fourty Artist Group

As a manager, Cody has worked with management companies whose artists include Mercy Me, Phil Whickam, 98 Degrees, A Great Big World, Jacob Whitesides, Whissel and more.

He has secured sync licensing placements for artists that include BMW, CBS, HBO & Netflix and has been signed with Capital Records, Prescription Songs, & EMI publishing.

 With a drive like no other, “BIG MIKE” has been afforded the opportunity to produce and write for MTV, Bad Girls Club, Vh1, Access Hollywood, The Terrell Owens Show, HBO, BET, NBA; tour with Jessy J, DJ Quik, Slimm (112), Dogg Pound, Ricky Bell (NEW EDITION), Michael Lington, Dave Hollister, Wayman Tisdale, Goapele; and is the current Musical Director/Guitarist for Kenny Lattimore.

Rashid Williams
Music Director/Drummer

RASHID WILLIAMS’ style and precision in drumming is recognized throughout the music industry. His dangerous combination of chops, groove and impeccable timing is undeniable. Rashid launched his company as CEO, Little Fat Jimmy, LLC, an organization that promotes the ideal of a better society for our youth. As an independent artist, Rashid is currently touring with Grammy, Emmy, Oscar, and Tony Award winning artist John Legend, is the drummer and Musical Director for Grammy and Billboard Award winning Artist/Actor Jill Scott and has toured with Common, JCole, Alicia Keys, Goapele, N.E.R.D., K Michelle, and Eric Roberson to name a few. Rashid is no stranger to what is required to develop and execute a memorable musical production. We are honored to have him share his knowledge as a Paid 2 Play panelist.

Daisha McBride
Hip Hop Artist

Since graduating in Spring 2018, Daisha has continued to grow her audience with popular freestyle covers, touring and new music. Since going viral in 2015, she has been recognized by musical artists such as Missy Elliot, Chance The Rapper, Alessia Cara, Megan Trainor, G-Easy, KYLE, Lil Dicky and more.  She also has been recognized by Thrillst, Genius, NPR & The Tennesseean as an “artist to watch in 2019”. In 2019 she played several music festivals including A3C and a sold out RedBull show. She has been recognized by several news outlets including WVLT channel 8 in Knoxville, TN. She also was the first hip hop act to have a sold out show at the historic First Art Museum in downtown Nashville. She also has recently been featured in Forbes as a key element of Nashville's hip hop scene and also has scored a song in the hit Netflix show "Trinkets".
